Personal data

The following personal data protection policy applies to the data collected and processed on this site (hereinafter referred to as the "Site") and, more widely, by all services made accessible upon it.

Disclaimer: the following is a translation. Only the French original will stand in case of legal proceedings.

Who is responsible for processing your data?

Your personal data is collected and processed by the organisation "Soutien de l’initiative Alumni for the Planet", whose headquarters are located at 18bis, rue Pauline Borghèse – 92200 Neuilly-sur-Seine (France).

Why and according to which legal basis do you we collect and process your data?

personal data

Which categories of data do we use?

Your personal data is collected during your registration and throughout our relationship with you:

• Login data and details, such as your name, surname, username, password, email address, as well as your postcode and your city and country of residence;

• Data pertaining to your academic and professional life, namely your university, or the organisation or company for which you currently work;

• Website usage data, such as your IP address, browser, operating system, length of session;

• Data pertaining to your registration and your participation in the Alumni for the Planet movement, including your requests to access the data of other graduates to allow you to contact other graduate members and your testimonials…

When certain data is necessary to register or participate in our events, they will be marked (generally by an asterisk: *). If you refuse to provide this data, you may not be able to register or participate in these events.

Who can access your data?

Members and service providers who manage our tools ("subcontractors" in legal terms) who are located in Europe can access your data, depending on and within the limits of their respective needs. Subject to your approval, your data can be shared beyond our organisation - with other people involved in the Alumni for the Planet movement, for example - or circulated, for the purpose of testimonials, for example, and therefore publicly published on our Website.

How long do we store your data?

Your data will be stored for up to 6 months after the end of your registration (whether you are the one to cancel it or not). However, we will ensure that you are no longer contacted as soon as you de-register (allowing for technical delays). Certain data will be stored for a shorter period of time if they are no longer necessary for the purposes enumerated hereinabove, in particular any login data, which are only stored for 6 months. Any data that may be necessary to the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims will be securely stored under conditions of limited access for the length of the prescription or until the applicable statute of limitations expires.

What are your data protection rights?

You have the right:

  • to receive confirmation that your data is being processed or not and, if it is, to be granted access to this data and information regarding its processing;
  • to have incorrect or inaccurate personal data rectified;
  • to have parts of your data deleted under specific conditions;
  • impose limitations on how we process your data under specific conditions;
  • to oppose your data being processed for reasons relating to your particular circumstances;
  • to retract your consent at any time for any future operations if your consent served as a legal basis for our processing of your data;
  • to receive the data that you provided to us and/or request that we forward the data to another processing system, if the processing is based on your consent or on a contract and the processing is automated;
  • if you are a French resident, to specify how your data should be processed after your death.

To exercise these rights, all you have to do is contact us via this online form and attach any document confirming your identity and your request.

If we fail to resolve the issues, you may make a claim with the competent monitoring authority the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL).
